RED WARRIOR (Brand, 1939) - Single - Red - Early. Very deep red. Excellent. List in Bulletins 91 and 130.

RED WING (Origin unknown) Jap. - Crimson - Midseason.

REEVES GRANDIFLORA RUBRA - Double - Red - Late. 1916 Wild catalog.

REFORM (Kelway) - Double - Pink - DISCARDED - Midseason.

REGAL (Lyman, 1933) - Single - Black Red. Black red. Large. Very gorgeous with full center of golden stamens. Holds its color which is very clear. Not a "blue red". Strong fine foliage. Bulletin 55.

REINE BARONET (Millet, 1924) - Double - Pink - Midseason.

REINE de MAI (Arends) - Single - Flesh - Hybrid. Peregrina x Wittmanniana. List in Bulletin 91

REINE des FLEURS (Guerin, 1850) - Double - Pink - Midseason. Medium height. No fragrance. A fine cut flower, and especially good when placed in cold storage. Cherry-red in bud, but opens a deep pink. M.

REINE des FRANCAIS (Guerin, 1842) - Double - Lilac-White - DISCARDED - Midseason.

REINE HORTENSE (Calot, 1857) - Double - Pink - Midseason. Tall. Slightly unpleasant odor. Very large. Rose-pink with crisp, fluffy petals of translucent texture, notched and silvered at the tips and occasionally flecked with crimson in the center. Free-flowering. Good stems and foliage. M.

REINE VICTORIA (Guerin, 1845) - Double - Bright Rose - Midseason.

RELIANCE (Glasscock, 1950) - Double - Pink - Very Early - Hybrid. Medium height. Seedling I M 24. Bomb, pure pink, stiff upright stems, fair size. Otto Froebel x albiflora. Bulletin 116.

REMBRANDT (Goos & Koenemann, 1926) - Single - Red - Midseason.

REMEMBRANCE (Lyman, 1939) - Anemone Jap. - Pink. Rose pink guard petals, soft salmon pink notched petaloids 1/4 to 1/2" wide somewhat flecked with pink and white, turning white with age, a few scattered staminodes. Very lovely and good form. Bulletin 81.

RENATO (Murawska, 1949) - Double - Red - Midseason. A much improved Felix Crousse, fuller and larger. Excellent cut-flower variety. Klehm's 1955 catalog. Atha Gardens price list, 1955.

RENEE MARIE (Dessert, 1920) - Double - White - Midseason. Medium height. Fragrance not notable. Very large. Flesh white, shading to pale pink on the outer petals, with a ring of short, crimson-edged petals toward the center and a circle of yellow stamens; center full and darker pink; outer petals have an occasional edge of crimson on one side. Erect growth, fairly floriferous, strong stems. Good foliage. M.

RENE  POTARD (Bechet, 1882) - Double - Cherry - DISCARDED - Midseason.

RENOWN (Auten, 1956) - Double - Red - Early - Hybrid. Dwarf. Rich velvety dark red, with Japanese markings. Officinalis x albiflora. Letter from Mr. Auten, April, 1956. Auten's 1956 catalog.

REQUIEM (Saunders, 1941) - Single - White - Hybrid. Another lovely waxy-white single, about one week after Garden Peace. Finest substance and foliage. Albiflora x macrophylla, second generation back cross. List in Bulletins 91 and 129. Correction by Miss Saunders, 1955.

RESPLENDENT (Franklin, 1931) - Double - White - Medium to late. Immense full white, good stem and foliage. Bulletin 47.

REUNION (Kelsey) Now named E. F. KELSEY. Bulletin 86, page 27.

REVEREND H. N. TRAGITT (Brand, 1928) - Double - White - Late Midseason. Short plant. Very large, of true rose type. Great blooms of the most perfect form resemble large balls of snow. The dwarf plants with strong stems hold the great white blooms erect. Very sturdy and even growth. Lists in Bulletins 91 and 130.

REVERIE (Franklin, 1920) - Double - Midseason.

REVERIE (Jones, 1937) Now named KEREN. Double - Pink - Late Midseason. 42" stems. Large double pink with an intriging flush of lavender. Petals notched - large. Vigorous. Very handsome flower, carried well above foliage. Rose type. Bulletin 71 and List in 91.

REV. L. W. ATWOOD (Hollis, 1908) - Double - White - Midseason.

REWARD (Saunders, 1941) - Single - Maroon - Early - Hybrid. This darkest maroon single is among the earliest of reds to bloom. Upright. Albiflora x decora. Lists in Bulletins 91 and 129. Saunders 1955 catalog.

RHAPSODY (Auten, 1956) - Jap. - Pink - Midseason. A little pink Jap with the narrow center petals yellow flushed pink. Very odd and distinct. Stiff stems. Letter from Mr. Auten, April, 1956. Auten's 1956 catalog.

RHODA (Terry, 1902) - Double - Crimson - DISCARDED - Midseason.

RICHARD CARVEL (Brand, 1913) - Double - Red - Early. Tall. Only slightly fragrant. Large. The broad guards and irregularly incurved high center are bright crimson. Floriferous. Good stems and foliage. M. Lists in Bulletins 91 and 130.

RICHARDSON'S PERFECTION (Richardson, 1869) - Double - Pink - Midseason.

RICHFIELD WHITE (Franklin, 1939) - Double - White - Late Midseason. Tall. A midseason "Festiva Maxima" that is our joy and standby after a storm. A full rose-type double and crimson markings. Extra fine stem. Bulletin 76.

RIGOLETTE (Doriat) Sometimes spelled Rigoloto or Rigolote. Jap - Red. Broad purple-crimson petals. Wassenberg 1954 catalog. Mr. Peyton says these three are the same.

RIGOLOTE (Doriat, 1931) Sometimes spelled Rigoloto or Rigolete. Jap. - Purple Crimson. Purple crimson guards with staminodes same color tipped yellow. List in Bulletin 91. Mr. Peyton says these three are the same.
