James Pillow* (Pillow/W F Christman 1936) L.  Full Double; light pink, many petals in a distinctive, uncommonly compact form.  Tall, strong long stems extend well beyond the foliage.best as a cutflower.  Late, but sure opening.

James Pillow (Pillow, 1936) Pink, double, late, 38" tall, lactiflora cultivar. The pink petals are suffused with a yellow inner glow for a very soft, warm effect.

Bloom Period: Week 6

Fragrance: Good

Side Buds: 1 or 2 per stem

Comments: This is a late flowering, tall peony with a distinctive flower colour. The flowers are a pale dusky pink and have row upon row of tightly packed petals hiding a lemon yellow centre. It is to my eye one of the prettiest double pink peonies. Foliage height is average but flowers are produced on long stems making the overall plant when in bloom quite tall. These long stems also mean that ‘James Pillow’ is an excellent cut flower.
