'Flame' (Glasscock, U.S.A., 1939) (P. lactiflora x P. peregrina ('Sunbeam')) Bloemen vuurrood, enkel, vroeg; bladeren vrij groot, groen; hoogte 80 cm; bloem en bladstengels zeer stevig; vertakking matig. 'Flame' is in verband met de zeer opvallende rode kleur gemakkelijk als een hybride te herkennen. De plant bloeit vroeg en is nauwelijks vatbaar voor ziekten. Het aantal bloemen is volgens kwekers altijd wel enigszins beperkt.
'Flame' (USA Glasscock 1939). Hybride mit kräftig lachs-hellroten, einfachen Schalen und gelben Staubbeuteln. Blüte flammenförmig. Auffallend durch die leuchtenden Farben.

FLAME, Glasscock (USA), 1939, Hybrid– Paeonia lactiflora x P. peregrina ‘Sunbeam’, A well-chosen name for this variety - the flowers look just like large flames! 'Flame' is very noticeable because of her lustrous flame pink to near fluorescent red cupped petals which become really large when the flowers mature. The contrasting stamens in the center of the flower make this cultivar an even bigger eye-catcher during blooming season... Very rich and early flowering without any sidebuds.
FLAME, Glasscock (USA), 1939, Hybride – Paeonia lactiflora x P. peregrina ‘Sunbeam’, Een zeer welgekozen naam; de bloemen zijn net zeer grote vlammen. Op deze foto komt de kleur helaas niet helemaal goed tot uiting. Enorm opvallend is deze cultivar met haar fluorescerend enkele roze bloemen met geel hart. De felle bloembladeren groeien gedurende de bloei erg groots uit. Over een eye-catcher gesproken… Erg rijkbloeiend en bovendien bloeit ze voor de meeste pioenen uit. Geen zijknoppen.
