GODAISHU With pure white fluffy petals enclosing contrasting gold stamens, this makes a perfect focal point for your garden. Super green foliage, and an added bonus of autumn colour ensures a plant worthy of special honour. Double white.

GODAISHU "5 grands pays". (Semi-double). Très belle fleur blanc pur De grandes dimensions, elle tient bien sa couleur jusqu'au bout. Remarquable par sa vigueur.

Origine: Japan

Croisement: complexe P. suffruticosa (pivoine arbustive)

Fleur: Semi-double

Tuteur: Non

Hauteur: 60-90 cm

Floraison: 3e semaine

Parfum: Faible

Fleurs secondaires: Non

Flower Form: Semi-double

Staking: No

Height: 60-90 cm

Bloom Period: Week 3

Fragrance: Faint

Side Buds: No

Comments: Another tree peony that manages to open its flowers in clear view rather than tucked under the foliage. Here with the harsh winters and little snow cover, winter kill keeps it at about 60 cm but I’ve read that it can reach over 1 meter. 4 year old plants that have flowered at least two years here.

'GODAISHU' (HIGH PRIEST OF THE GARDEN)

Large, pure white, airy blossoms are held nicely above the plants facing viewer. An ancient Japanese variety. Elegant and floriferous.

Godaisho (Giant Globe). Japan. 1940. Japanese suffruticosa. Single to semi-double pure white flower of large size. Strong growing plants with dark blue-green foliage. Plants grow to 4 feet in Wisconsin and 5 feet wide after 10 years. Stem hardiness is very good. A favorite for pure white coloration. Fertile both ways.
